Kalaw Hill Lodge

Grade - Boutique Medium Class

Overview

Location, Location, Location! You’ve come here to walk the hills and as you look across from the hotel terrace the valley opens up in front of you and the trails lead out directly from the gardens into a land of forest, farms, villages and paddy fields, but few other tourists. A beautiful boutique hotel that also helps support the community farm, school (next door) and monastery. It’s rare to find a hotel that is truly perfect for a romantic, family or active stay.

Facilities

As you’re high in the hills you can dine beside a roaring open fire in the restaurant that serves superb Burmese food. Breakfast is served outside looking out over the valley and the small bar is alongside the restaurant. In the garden is a yoga, meditation and massage pavilion. Instruction and workshops can be arranged. Within the grounds you’ll find an organic garden and at the local farm you can join in with a series of farm pursuits.

Rooms

To make the most of the magnificent views the large chalet style rooms have sliding glass doors that lead out to the terrace that looks out over the valley. Inside polished dark wood floors surround the mosquito netted beds, and in the corner each has an open fire that adds to the hill station atmosphere on chilly nights. All are en-suite with air-conditioning and heating and safety deposit box.
