Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van Bay

Grade: Deluxe

Introduction

Vietnam is not noted for its deluxe hideaway beach hotels, but Ninh Van Bay leads the way in reclusive barefoot luxury. Set amongst dramatic rocks and surrounded by a shimmering sea and coral reef, its golden sands are only accessible by speed boat. From the moment you land you’ll notice the exquisite attention to detail as the resort was designed to make the most of its stunning location to create a sanctuary from which you’ll find it hard to leave. One of the best hotels in Vietnam.

Facilities

There are a choice of intimate restaurants that offer a mix of traditional Vietnamese and fusion, whilst overlooking the beautiful Ninh Van Bay. As this is a “hideaway” you can also enjoy a selection of private dining options on a deserted beach, private cove or even in the rather romantic wine cave. Maximising the natural beach setting there are a range of watersports and Ninh Van Bay is one of the best places to snorkel and dive in Vietnam. Other facilities include a superb Six Senses Spa, gymnasium, tennis court and library.

Rooms

In keeping with the rest of the hotel each villa is beautifully decorated to create a luxurious natural feel. The 39 Beach Pool Villas all have their own private plunge pool and direct beach access, and there are a number of more secluded Hill top, Water and Rock Villas. All have flat screen satellite tv, dvd player, minibar, in-room safe, tea/coffee making facilities, ipod (on request) and even a wine cellar.

Whale Island

Grade: Medium

Introduction

When touring Vietnam you can get caught up in the frenetic pace and come away with a feeling that the country is always on the move. Whale Island offers the chance to see a more natural side to Vietnam, to enjoy a spot of swimming, snorkelling and snoozing in a beautiful environment, that has enough to keep you active as and when you like.

Facilities

The restaurant specialises in Vietnamese cuisine and locally caught seafood. As a simple resort there are few other facilities. Whale Island is great place to dive whether you’d like to learn or are ready to explore the depths. You can also use canoes, windsurfers and catamarans at extra cost. There is a yoga instructor who offers classes in the morning and evening and there are massages throughout the day.

Rooms

In keeping with the setting the 23 traditional bamboo bungalows are very simple with sea views and a good degree of privacy. Each is ensuite with ceiling fan and mosquito net. Relax in front admiring the view from your own deckchair.

Mia Resort

Overview

When visiting Nha Trang, the best locations are slightly out of town and a prime example is the Mia Resort that runs along a beautiful stretch of private beach and is backed by gentle hills. Everything about the resort is first class, all rooms have sea views and there’s plenty of space to stretch out. You really have no option but to relax, enjoy your stay and let them look after you - simple!

Facilities

Start the evening with a cocktail at Mojito's as you enjoy the stunning 180° view of the East Sea from your elevated position above the main resort. Dinner will be served on the terrace at Sandals Restaurant that serves Vietnamese and international cuisine backed by the sound of the surf. Other facilities include the Xanh Spa, beach yoga, a range of water sports and Padi dive centre.

Most importantly every one of the 50 rooms has a sea view. There are 3 choices: Villas, Condos and Mia Suites. The Villas are identical in design, as are the Condos. The only difference is that some have splash pools whilst others have more garden.
