Wow, what a location. High in the Tonkinese Alps this traditional mountain chalet resort is set in beautiful gardens and enjoys a commanding position gazing out over the mountains and down to Sapa town.
As with every Victoria hotel the combination of locally inspired elegance with modern day amenities creates a perfect mountain retreat from which to explore this beautiful region.
Full resort facilities include indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, games room and fitness centre.
The spa is superb, offering a range of massages that will leave you revived and rejuvenated after a day’s walking. In the evening enjoy a drink in the bar and dinner at the excellent Ta Van Restaurant which specialises in Vietnamese and European food and has a large central fireplace and spectacular mountain views from the terrace.
The mountain chalet feel continues in the rooms and each boasts a private terrace or balcony with stunning views over Sapa, the mountains or lush hotel gardens.
All feature ceiling fan, satellite tv, safety deposit box, mini-bar and tea/coffee making facilities.
Hotel Grade: Medium
Location, location, location - the Topas Ecolodge drapes itself around the top of an open hilltop to offer a 360 degree view of the magnificent mountains that you’ll explore during your stay.
Not for those who want to be based in the town as Sapa is about 40 minutes away, but perfect for those who want to enjoy the seclusion and beauty of mountain life and experience the region at its most natural. Most will wish they’d stayed another day.
It’s really all about enjoying the environment you in, so the facilities are really limited to a bar and restaurant. The restaurant is an old traditional Tay stilt house that serves Vietnamese food cooked and served by minority people from the surrounding villages. Relax and enjoy the view across the valley as everyday life is played out in the rice fields and villages below.
The cottage style bungalows circle the hilltop to offer perhaps the best uninterrupted views from any balcony in Vietnam out over the mountains. Each is roomy, comfortable and simply decorated with ensuite facilities.
