Nam Ha is one of the country’s 20 National Protected Areas and thanks to a home-grown ecological movement, Laos is enjoying a surge of eco-tourism which aims to contribute to the economy in a sustainable fashion and channel the revenue to local communities. As you would imagine from this Nam Ha is all about the outdoors and is essentially a jungle playground waiting for you to explore by foot, raft, kayak or bike.

Explore the Jungle

Rich in flora and fauna, you may see monkeys in the triple canopy, catch the flicker of a colourful bird or even convince yourself that the rustle of leaves is a tiger: your mind will soon be telling you that you’ve made it into real jungle.luang namtha laosThe tours can be designed depending on how far you want to explore and by what means. Overnight escorted excursions staying in a local village are particularly popular, as you truly get away from it all into mature jungle and visit a village that will benefit from your visit.

Away from the jungle there are a few temples that can be visited by mountain bike and the region is still a stronghold of ethnic minority tribes.

There are regular flights from Vientiane and we can arrange for a 2 day overnight boat trip (or car transfer) to Huay Xai, where you can pick up the Luang Say cruise down the Mekong to Luang Prabang.
