January is one of the most comfortable months to travel through this beautiful country with most destinations enjoying temperatures in the mid-20s °C, tipping into the early 30s in the far south.
Largely dry throughout, but you will need to pack some extra layers if travelling up to the hill country around Nam Ha and Muang La in the far north or the Bolaven Plateau in the far south. Nothing dramatic but night time temperatures can drop to below 10°C
