The peaceful shores of Hua Hin have been welcoming visitors since the late 1920’s, when it was discovered by the Thai Royal family. It has maintained a certain regal air ever since, as visitors are attracted to its modern low key beachside ambience and the miles of sandy beaches.

High quality hotels and world class restaurants...

Just 130 miles (3 hour drive) south of Bangkok, the location is perfect for a quick and easy add on to any holiday to Thailand. Still a working fishing port, Hua Hin can’t describe itself as a forgotten backwater, but rather as one of the most cosmopolitan areas of Thailand, it boasts a superb range of high quality hotels and a great mixture of world class and local restaurants strung along the coast. There is an excellent night market and for local flavour grab a bite here.

Hua Hin has also established itself as one of Thailand’s prime golfing destinations, offering a choice of more than 10 international standard golf courses within easy reach of the town.

A beautiful climate...

One other all-important attraction is the weather, as Hua Hin has one of the lowest rainfalls in Thailand and being a coastal town it generally gets a cooling sea breeze. The summer, generally rainy in South East Asia, is the best time to visit, but it prides itself as being an all year round resort. There are three season: Dry (March-September), Rainy (October - November) and Warm (November-February).

If you’d like to explore a bit further, two of favourites are Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, whose towering limestone cliffs, coastal marshes and beaches offer a dramatic landscape that is particularly popular for bird watching and Prachuap Khiri Khan, a sleepy seaside town and great place to enjoy a seafood lunch.

This good summer weather brings forward the festival season, which is generally from November onwards in the rest of the country. For example in June the Hua Hin Jazz Festival draws music fans and artists from all over Thailand and the streets come alive with music, events and market stalls.

In July / August the Hua Hin Regatta takes place in honour of the King, bringing together competitors from all over the world.

Hua Hin is the most traditional of Thai resorts. Sophisticated and gentile, it offers a certain level of reassurance, as all visitors enjoy world close amenities in a beautiful setting.
